WIMER aims to transition to IMEKO, a move that has been positively received by the IMEKO Presidential Board.
The original WIMER (Women in Metrology, Energy and Research) was established in 2022 at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) by the IMEKO Member Organisation along with its Technical Committee 20, which focuses on Measurement, Energy, and Related Quantities.
Over the years, through a series of events including conferences, lectures, and the IMEKO World Congress 2024 in Hamburg, Germany, they have expanded and now seek to broaden their scope. Reflecting this advancement, they are also rebranding themselves as Women in Metrology Engineering and Research. The incorporation of WIMER into IMEKO is anticipated to occur in the near future.
