Short biography

In 1962, Mihai Cretu graduated the Polytechnic Institute of Iasi, Romania, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. From 1962 to present with the Technical University “Gh. Asachi” of Iasi, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the following didactical levels: 1962-1964, head of laboratory; 1964-1970, assistant professor; 1970-1979, lecturer; 1979-1990, associate professor; 1990-present, full professor. 1970, Ph.D. degree in Metrology from the Technical University “Gh. Asachi” of Iasi. 1990-1996, head of Electrical Measurements and Materials Department. 1996-2000, dean of Faculty of Electrical Engineering. 2000-present, rector of Technical University "Gh. Asachi" of Iasi. Humboltd specialization in Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. Since 1990, scientific coordinator for Ph. D. in Metrology. Since 2011 doctor honoris causa.
