Measurements of Formaldehyde Migrated from Food Contact Tableware into Simulants for Acidic Foods: Calculation of Uncertanties of The "Chromotropic Acid" Method

Giorgio Padula, Veruscka Mannoni, Cinzia Gesumundo, Oronzo Panico, Maria Rosaria Milana
  • Abstract:
The amount of Formaldehyde migrated in food simulant from food contact tableware must be measured to verify compliance to the legal limit. “Chromotropic acid” method is frequently used. Expanded uncertainties must be calculated taking into account the contributions of the different steps of the method.
