Upon Hungarian initiative, the International Measurement
Confederation – IMEKO was established in Budapest in 1958.
In 2008, after several years, we return to the birthplace
to celebrate in a proper way and invite all our friends
and colleagues to share this opportunity with us, who
have actively accompanied us

throughout good and not so good periods – starting with
the meeting of the Technical Board at 2.oo p.m. on September 8.
There will be a festive dinner in the evening of the 9th,
following the usual annual Session of the General Council.
Two Technical Committee events begin on the 10th:
by TC10 on Technical Diagnostics and by TC19/TC23 on
Metrology of Environmental, Food and Nutritional Measurements.

You surely don’t want to miss such a unique occasion that happens
once in a lifetime.

General Council

- the supreme governing body.
Members:
The GC consists of one or two delegates from each
Member Organization and holds yearly Sessions.

Secretariat

- the executive body headed by the Secretary General.
It carries out the decisions of the GC in accordance
with the resolutions passed at Sessions.

- to formulate proposals on the policy and strategy of
IMEKO, chaired by the Immediate Past President.
